Our horsearchery school was founded by Kassai Lajos, who worked out the system, methodology and rules of the horsearchery sport, built up the first horsearchery center in Europe and started distributing it worldwide. We build up our trainings and organise our competitions following the Kassai methodology. First in the World, since 2011 at the University of Physical Education in Budapest, a BA and MA can be gained in teaching horsearchery. The methodology of examinations and practical tutorials was worked out by Kassai Lajos. The Kassai horsearchery system is Hungaricum (part of the Hungarian Heritage) since 2013. Horsearchery is officially accredited by the MLSZ (Hungarian Equine Sports Association). The Kassai Horsearchery School has more then 300 members worldwide. In the Carpathian Basin there are nine sport associations, one of them is the Szmrecsányi Kánság. Kassai Lajos founded the World Federation of Equestrian Archery in 2020, having the Kassai School a central role within.

Szmrecsányi Márton was elected in 2008 for leadership within the school, who moved his team to his own land at the North side of Lake Balaton in 2009. Our base and where we hold our trainings, competitions is placed here since, in the village of Barnag. We hold horsearchery trainings weekly. Members having already a Competitors Licence, participate in competitions in Hungary and internationally. Twice every year world cups are organised at our Barnag horsearchery track, for which horsearchers prepare at training camps previously. Our activities are diverse in the whole year round. In line with the trainings we participate in horse- and horsearchery shows, we hold courses, clinics and shows internationally or we participate in vocational trainings. We are proud of our children team, which is one of the largest in the country.

Horsearchery, a HUNgarian martial art, sport and a traditional equine practice is thinking about body, mind and soul as a whole (we have a word in Hungarian „egészség” meaning "wholeness and healthyness" at the same time). Horsearchery for us is not only a school for giving and receiving information and knowledge, but it is also a life style and a community, in which we share the same values.
